Summer Food Program Starts June 19 at 50+ Locations
The MMSD Summer Food Program, which provides free summer meals to all children 18 and under at 50 sites city wide, will begin on Monday, June 19. Join a team that is passionate about building the local food system in Southern Wisconsin. REAP’s Business Development Director will lead business development opportunities and oversee the Farm to Business Program. Proposed State Budget Cuts Farm to School
Announced at the end of February, Governor Walker's proposed budget removes funding for the statewide coordination of Farm to School efforts and technical assistance for school districts, farmers, and non-profits. Wisconsin's Farm to School programs purchase $9.1 million in Wisconsin-grown foods. In addition, 47 percent of Wisconsin school districts plan to increase or start a Farm to School program.
