The many terrific options from 2007 Local Night Out included... Washington Hotel Coffee Room: This beautiful coffee room on West Lakeside Street featured a lovely spread of autumn treats- hot apple cider, local cheeses and sandwiches, heirloom fall fruits and others combined with their usual delicious menu items made with ingredients grown in Southern Wisconsin and Door County. Lombardino's: Not only did they offer great Local Night Out specials, Lombardino's donated the proceeds from them to REAP and Buy Fresh Buy Local. From pumpkin or pork rissoto, to beet pizza, or grilled sausage antipasti, Lombardino's doesn't disappoint. L'Etoile: Think L'Etoile is out of your reach for a great dinner? LNO presented a chance to sample one of the country's finest restaurants (not to mention one of the pioneers of eating locally) with an affordable $35 tasting menu. The Greenbush Bar: Known for amazing thin crust pizzas, the Greenbush came through with some special pizzas and a chicken marsala dish. Hope you saved room for a very special chocolate cake made with a local ingredient you'll never guess! Bluephies: The newest BFBL Partner celebrated their partnership with Fountain Prairie Farm, Jordandal Farm and others! Bluephies pulled out all the stops with their new commitment to locally sourced ingredients. The chef specials for Local Night Out included grass-fed pork spare ribs, pature-raised chicken, pan seared trout, and a delicious vegetarian medley on chevre seared polenta. Manna Cafe: If you were busy Thursday evening you could still have been part of Local Night Out? by placing an order at Manna Cafe for "Local Lunch In." Manna debuted their locally grown box lunch catering options on that day. Offices around town enjoyed a smoked turkey or roasted veggie sandwich with a fruit or lemon pesto pasta salad on the side. Ian's Pizza and Salad: The name says it all. Ian's offered a Salad Pizza for Local Night Out- and if you've ever had one of Ian's special pizzas you know it was good. The Old Fashioned: Heirloom Tomato BLT was the featured item of the day at this great Wisconsin-themed eatery. The Old Fashioned is truly dedicated to Wisconsin agriculture and has some great offerings prepared with Wisconsin ingredients every night of the week. Captain Bill's: This Middleton supper club has been a strong Buy Fresh Buy Local Partner all summer- proving that a spot known for excellent seafood can also be a supporter of local agriculture. Specials made with RP's Pasta, local vegetables, and locally produced meat were featured at Local Night Out. The Dardanelles: A wonderful prix fixe meal from The Dardanelles featured local ingredients prepared as they might in the Mediterranean. Diners chose from a selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts such as grilled autumn vegetables with yogurt sauce, stuffed acorn squash, grilled trout, and an amazing pumpkin spice cake! CoCoLiquot: Diners know CoCoLiquot for beautiful seafood and delicious chocolates but famers know they buy lots of local produce to serve along side. Check the "poisson du jour" for some of the most elegant veggies in Southern Wisconsin served with fresh seafood. Fork and Spoon Cafe: The freshest pasta served with the freshest locally grown ingredients was the rule of the day at the RP's Pasta site on East Wilson. Peter and crew created a meal for Local Night Out featuring Marr Family Farm beef, including the best carpaccio you'll find anywhere. The Weary Traveler: The Weary Traveler has always told you where they get their meat and eggs- and customers told them how much we appreciate knowing where our food comes from while enjoying a special Lange Farm flank steak served with veggies from Blue Moon Community Farm, their legendary potatoes, and a local beer sauce to top it off. Osteria Papavero: Osteria Papavero had an exciting speical for Local Night Out- Cardoon Soup! This unique vegetable is totally underutilized in the Midwest, so much so that many of us have never seen it before. Diners had a chance to sample a traditional Italian vegetable turned into a fabulous soup.
