Recipe Contest
Daily Special: Real Meals from Local Fields

Here in the heartland, by extending the season, delicious and nutritious food is available year-round, for everyday enjoyment.

We’re looking for recipes that feature Midwestern produce and products, especially for those that can be prepared for our daily meals.

Grand Prize:

$500 Gift Certificate from the 
Washington Hotel and Cooking School.
 
(
Prize can be used for lodging, cooking classes or gourmet meals. Located on Door County's Washington Island.)
And a Membership in Slow Food.

Entry Categories:

Savory: Side Dishes, Salads, Appetizers.

Sweets: Desserts, Snacks, Baked Goods.

Daily Special Entrees: Main courses for everyday cooking.

Stocking Up: Preserving, Canning, Freezing, Drying, etc.  (What we're looking for is either a recipe on HOW to preserve, or a recipe on WHAT to make with the preserved food.)

Kids Category: Under 18 years of age, in any of the above categories.

Extra consideration will be given to those who include a story, photo or illustration with their recipe, one that tells us about your garden, your favorite food preserving memory, or other regional food tales.  For those entering the Stocking Up category, extra points for will be given to those who include a sample with their entry form.
