Main Tent 

9:00 am Macyn Taylor - 11 year old "Sidewalk Superstar" - singing and playing guitar and banjo.
10:00 am Keynote Speech "Of Parsnips and Pyramids: Just Eat Food"  by Dr. Joan Dye Gussow
10:45 am Cooking Demonstration by Odessa Piper, founder and chef for last 28 years at L'Etoile Restaurant.
11:30 am Tribute from the community to Odessa Piper.


Demonstration Tent 

8:00 am Macyn Taylor - 11 year old "Sidewalk Superstar" - singing and playing guitar and banjo.
9:00 am Presentation of the Food for Thought Recipe Contest winners.  Demonstration of winning recipe.
10:00 am Community Action Coalition demo of traditional Hmong cooking.
10:40 am MACSAC demonstration of cooking with seasonal produce with recipes from the the Asparagus to Zucchini cookbook.
11:20 am Pasta recipes and demonstration by Peter Robertson of RP's Pasta. 
12:00 am Huma Saddiqui of White Jasmine will prepare a traditional Pakistani recipe
12:40  pm Food for Thought Raffle Drawing (prizes include dozens of specialty foods, products, and gift certificates from the fantastic vendors and exhibitors at the Festival)



Booksigning
10:45 am - 11:45 am.  Joan Dye Gussow will sign copies of her book, 
"This Organic Life: Confessions of an Urban Homesteader" 


On the Plaza  - Ongoing from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 
- Taste, feel, experience and learn from 60 organizations and businesses that promote a sustainable food system.  Check out the amazing line up in the Exhibitors Section.
 
- Kids' Activity Tent- including making 24-carrot necklaces, grinding grains, face painting, a special visit from the Children's Museum and the ever-popular "Chickens on a Leash."

 

 

-The Food for Thought Raffle.  Exhibitors have contributed over $1600 worth of goods and gift certificates to be raffled off at 12:40 in the demo tent.  Ticket sales will be ongoing from 8:00 - 12:30.
