9:30 am 14 Carrot Gold Award presentation to Physicians Plus Insurance Corporation.*

Sponsored by the WI Nutrition & Physical Activity Program and WI Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, the 14 Carrot Gold Award recognizes individual and organizational efforts to increase fruit and vegetable consumption in Wisconsin by promoting or increasing access to fruits and vegetables in innovative ways. 


Demonstration Tent - Hosted by Chef Sabi of "Cooking the Casbah"

8:30 am "Lilies of the Alley" musical trio
9:15 am Presentation of the Food for Thought Recipe Contest winners.  Demonstration of winning recipe.
10:00 am  Demonstration:  Pasta by Peter Robertson or RP's Pasta
10:45 am Demonstration: Baba Ghanouj  by Chef Sabi
11:15 am Demonstration:  Chicken Karahi  and  Matar Pulao (basmati rice with whole spices and peas) by Huma Siddiqui of White Jasmine
12:00 pm Saffron Squash Soup by Chef Sabi;
      
12:45  pm Food for Thought Raffle Drawing (10 prizes with values from $100-$500 will include specialty foods, products, and gift certificates from the fantastic vendors and exhibitors at the Festival, from area farmers' market vendors, and local businesses.  Over $2500 worth of goods in all!)

11:45 am - 12:30 pm  Mollie Katzen will sign copies of her popular books.

Local booksellers will be on hand to sell copies of these author's books.


On the Plaza  - Ongoing from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 
- Taste, feel, experience and learn from 60 organizations and businesses that promote a sustainable food system.  Check out the amazing line up in the Exhibitors Section.
 
Kids' Activity Tent
- including a special visit from the Madison Children's Museum, 
- making 24-carrot necklaces, grinding grains, face painting,  
- and the ever-popular "Chickens on a Leash."

 

-Food for Thought Raffle Booth - tickets for sale from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm

(10 prizes with values from $100-$500 will be drawn at 12:45 pm in the demo tent.  Prices include amazing collections of specialty foods, products, and gift certificates from the fantastic vendors and exhibitors at the Festival, from area farmers' market vendors, and local businesses.  Over $2500 worth of goods in all!)
