Food for Thought Festival 2007

This year's Food for Thought Recipe Contest 
is going casual.  Send us easy-going, everyday recipes! 

$500 Cash Grand Prize!
(generously donated by Johnson Block and Company)

In addition to the grand prize winner, first-place recipes in each category will receive a five-book set of cookbooks from the University of Wisconsin Press.  

DEADLINE WAS AUGUST 10th.
The Recipe Contest is now closed.

Winners will be announced at the Food for Thought Festival on Sept. 15th.

We're looking for dishes that are fresh, minimally processed, 
locally and/or sustainably produced, flavorful, and nutritious.  

  We also want your stories! 
Extra points will be given to recipes accompanied by a story that tells us something about the dish-- it's origins, what it means to you, or even why it inspires you to eat more locally and sustainably.
 


Rules and Regulations

Deadline is midnight, August 10th, 2007.

Winners will be announced at the Food for Thought Festival on September 15th.

Rules and Regulations
Entries will be judged on: 1) best use of regional ingredients; 2) flavor; 3) originality; and 4) clarity, completeness and accuracy of recipe. Limit of two entries per category per household. A recipe may be entered in only one category.  Entries must be your own creation or an adaptation of another recipe. REAP is not responsible for copyright infringement and reserves the right to edit recipes. Culinary professionals and members of the REAP/Food for Thought steering and planning committees are not eligible to enter. Entrants’ names and recipes (and photos, if submitted) may be used without compensation in REAP publicity and publications. Only one prize per contestant. Previous grand prize winners are not eligible for grand prize.  Prizes are not redeemable for cash; some may not include delivery or transportation.
