Action

REAP puts its research knowledge into action by engaging policy-makers on key food system issues, advocating for sustainable food groups, and organizing outreach events like the annual Food For Thought Festival. We learn from and support the activities of a myriad of progressive, sustainability-oriented groups that make up our area's sustainable food movement.

Our current action projects include:
Food For Thought Festival - An annual fall festival held in conjunction with the Dane County Farmers' Market.
Farm Fresh Atlas - A guide to fresh produce, meat, cheese, and other locally grown food.
Wisconsin Homegrown Lunch - An effort to bring locally grown food into the Madison Metropolitan School District's lunchrooms.

From working to save family farms to investigating low levels of university funding for sustainable agriculture to initiating the development of a farmers' market for Madison's south side neighborhood, REAP fosters an activated citizenry that takes an interest in its food system.
