Herbs and flowers Blue Moon Community Farm Blue Moon is known for its fresh, high quality vegetables and commitment to using sustainable practices and heirloom varieties. 2008 is an exciting year as the farm relocates to a new home in the Town of Dunn, just south of Madison. While we will not offer CSA memberships for this transitional season, please visit us at the Westside Community Market, and join our mailing list for farm events and ’09 CSA information! NO FARM VISITS, PLEASE. Blue Skies Berry Farm We offer certified organic raspberries, heirloom vegetables, edible flowers and herbs. U-pick raspberries from mid-August to late September on Sunday mornings in season, and by calling ahead for weekdays and evenings. Pre-picked available, too. We’re on a quiet country road. Families are welcome. We are 16 miles south of the Beltline via Hwy 14, toward Evansville; turn right at Union (at tavern) onto West Union Rd., then left onto Crocker Rd. Bluestem Farm We grow local ecotype wildflowers, grasses, trees, shrubs and native orchids for your rain garden and landscaping projects. We do no wild digging; our nursery-grown potted plants suffer little or no transplant shock. We also sell apples, grapes and other produce grown without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. We sell at the Dane County Farmers’ Market throughout the growing season, on the farm most Sundays in May and June, and other days by appointment. Christensen’s Farm Christensen’s Farm is a family venture offering a variety of vegetables and berries grown without chemicals. Our U-pick season begins in June with currants and raspberries and continues throughout the summer with tomatoes, peppers and more. Cornerstone Community Farm Cornerstone Community Farm is located in the beautiful, hilly land of southwestern Wisconsin where woods, oak savannah and gardens abound. Close to the Wildcat Mountains and the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, we offer 100% chemical-free, GMO-free, pasture-raised meats and farm produce. Our family is committed to developing a sustainable life, protecting natural resources, building community and being good stewards of God’s creations. Farm tours are available. VISITORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. Country Bumpkin Farm Market Come to “our farm” to enjoy fresh, pre-picked garden produce, walk our gardens, or browse our gift shop and greenhouses. Country Hill Farm Country Hill Farm is a small family-owned and -operated business nestled in the scenic and tranquil Wisconsin countryside. We specialize in the production of high quality, 100% natural botanical soaps handcrafted on- site using blends of natural ingredients (herbs, flowers, goat’s milk) and pure essential oils that fragrance our soaps naturally. NO FARM VISITS, PLEASE. Emerald Meadows Our family’s 140-acre farm is certified organic. In addition to grains and hay, we grow a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. Favorites include asparagus, heirloom tomatoes, sweet corn, raspberries, kohlrabi and onions. We sell our products at the Sun Prairie, Monona and Madison Eastside farmers’ markets. Special orders for produce, chicken and eggs can be called in and picked up at the farm by appointment. Call about CSA. Evans Family Farm Third generation family-run farm. Healthy vegetable and flower plants sold at market in May. Chemical free. Specialty: Nine varieties of gourmet rocombole garlic, garlic scapes and bushels of ground cherries. Keewaydin Farms Keewaydin Farms is a 200-acre organic family farm located at the end of Haucke Lane in Wisconsin’s beautiful hill country. As a family, we are committed to diversity, sustainability and social justice, choosing to produce organic dairy, meats, market vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs. Kojis Produce We are a self-serve with two stands in Waterford. We have raised sweet corn since 1972 and moved into a very wide range of vegetables in the year 2002. We raise everything we sell. Many items are picked the same day they are sold for the freshest possible product. We are third generation farmers. The present owner and operator is in a wheelchair. Lost Lake Acres Greenhouse, Inc. Lost Lake Acres Greenhouse is a family-owned business started as a single greenhouse operation in 1992. We now have 10 greenhouses to shop from. We specialize in hanging baskets and planters for sun or shade. We offer a full line of vegetable plants, perennials, bedding plants and proven winners. Fresh asparagus is available in season. Middlebury Hills We bring the simple pleasure of fresh seasonal food straight to your table. In addition to your favorite homegrown fruits and vegetables, we offer pesto, eggs, honey, fresh herbs and cut flowers. Members appreciate our half- and quarter-size share options and our annual garlic-tasting and pumpkin parties. Abandoned for 47 years, our farm is returning to a sustainable life through CSA. Morningwood Farm Nursery We are a full-service nursery located just west of Madison, specializing in distinctive and Wisconsin-hardy bedding plants, vegetable plants, perennials, roses, shrubs and trees. At our scenic country location close to Madison, you will find a broad selection of choice plants and a staff of expert horticulturalists to assist you in designing your garden. We also provide landscape design and installation using native plants and earth-sustaining techniques. The Plahnt Sense Farm We currently specialize in growing a large selection of vegetables. Shady Blue Acres Shady Blue Acres certified organic farm produces a colorful assortment of seasonal vegetables, creative canned goods, irresistible eggs, aromatic herbs, pastured poultry and garden transplants. In addition, we make fresh, wholesome baked goods from scratch using organic ingredients. Heritage breed hens lay our eggs and all poultry is free-ranged on pasture. Snug Haven Snug Haven Farm is just that—a farm nestled in a snug valley in southwestern Dane County. Our specialty is spinach grown in hoophouses over the winter. It’s incredibly sweet due to the freezing/thawing process (we do not heat). During the winter, we sell spinach shares to families around Madison and market to Madison and Chicago restaurants. Sprouting Acres Sprouting Acres is a locally owned, family-run farm that practices sustainable and organic farming methods. This year we are beginning the organic certification process. We produce a multitude of vegetables, flowers and berries and are adding new varieties every year. Members and families are invited to work, tour the farm and attend a late-summer open house. Sunborn Gardens Sunborn provides fresh, local, sustainably grown flowers starting with marvelous, dramatic parrot tulips in April and ending with dried flowers and ornamental peppers along with ornamental kale in October. The farmer is a woman, a seed saver and heirloom grower, and especially dedicated to the nutrient value and overall energy of the food grown at this farm. Produce will be available from mid-June to early November. PLEASE CALL BEFORE VISITING. The Tree Farm Offering U-pick vegetables since 1973. Diversity is our specialty. Choose from about 190 different varieties of 40 kinds of vegetables—including ethnic and specialty vegetables—flowers, herbs, pumpkins, gourds, ornamental corn and popcorn. West Star Farm, LLC West Star Farm vegetables, flowers and bedding plants are grown 7 miles east of Madison. We are located 1 mile south of Hwy 12/18 or 1 mile north of I-90 on Cty N and West Star Rd. We are a USDA certified organic grower. We grow several varieties of vegetables and flowers and offer a diverse selection of spring bedding plants. Buy fresh produce direct from our farm or join our CSA to enjoy a weekly box of produce from June to October. Young Earth Farm Young Earth Farm is located in Randolph, about 45 miles northeast of Madison. Our specialty is top-quality produce. Enjoy our produce Tuesday afternoons at Madison’s Eastside Farmers’ Market (May-October). We deliver CSA shares to several Madison locations and also supply restaurants in Madison and Oconomowoc.
