Certified OrganicBlack Earth Meats Black Earth Meats is a USDA, organic abattoir based in Dane County (just outside of Madison). We specialize in connecting local farmers with farm-identified, grass-fed and organic meats to consumers and chefs. Blue Valley Gardens Blue Valley Gardens is a certified organic fruit and vegetable farm located 30 miles west of Madison on the edge of the driftless region of southwestern Wisconsin. I started the farm in 1984 with asparagus and have grown since then adding raspberries, strawberries, mushrooms, pasture poultry, assorted annuals and naturally raised honey. We have been a vendor at Madison’s renowned Dane County Farmers’ Market for 20 years and retail our produce to restaurants and groceries. Donna’s Organic Gardens, LLC Donna’s Organic Gardens, LLC, is located 10 miles west of Hartford or 1 mile east of Hustisford on Hwy 60. The farm is south of Hwy 60 on Hwy EE. Sales are at both the gray house and gray barn locations. I am certified organic with Global Organic Alliance and pasture-raise Piedmontese beef, chicken, turkey and lamb. I also have eggs, strawberries, raspberries and potatoes. Available year-round is wild Alaska salmon and purebred Icelandic wool. Gourds are available for crafts. Dreamfarm, LLC Dreamfarm has the pleasure of milking goats morning and evening to create cheese on its small family farm. Artisan cheese maker Diana Murphy handcrafts fresh goat cheese. Laying hens of various breeds produce colorful eggs. Animals on our farm are free to roam pastures and eat organic hay and grain. Driftless Organics Certified organic vegetable and fruit farm nestled in the hills and valleys of northern Crawford County. Our specialty is potatoes, but we grow over 40 different varieties of fruits and vegetables. We also grow sunflowers for organic sunflower oil and raise grass-finished beef! We have about 120 acres in cultivation. Our products can be seen at local food co-ops in Madison and the Twin Cities. Emerald Meadows Our family’s 180-acre organic farm grows a wide variety of field crops, spring bedding plants (vegetables, herbs, flowers), fruits and vegetables. Favorites include heirloom tomatoes, raspberries, green beans, peppers and sweet corn. We sell at Sun Prairie, Monona and Eastside Madison farmers’ markets. On-farm sales/visits by appointment. Wholesale and CSA available. Future Fruit Farm Our family farm is a certified organic orchard that produces unusual and difficult-to-grow varieties of apples and pears. The delicious taste of our Future Fruit is sought after. Our artisan fruit can be found at local stores, fine restaurants, Dane County and Westside Community farmers’ markets, and as a member of our Organic Fruit CSA. No farm visits please. Keewaydin Farms Keewaydin Farms is a family-owned farm that is both certified organic and fair trade. We specialize in market garden vegetables, herbs and fruits, which we sell through our CSA program, as well as milk from our small herd of mixed-breed dairy cows. Kickapoo Gold, LLC Our certified organic Kickapoo Gold maple syrup is made with quality processing and family tradition. Our syrup is sold in many stores, farmers’ markets and on the web. Pancake breakfasts and tours are offered during the sugaring season, March to early April. We also sell Leader Evaporator equipment for all your sugar making needs. King’s Hill Farm King’s Hill Farm is a family farm with a community supported agriculture program. We are certified organic and integrating permaculture practices. We do not use confinement, antibiotics or hormones Meadow Brook Farm-Avoca We raise dozens of cultivars of potatoes from fingerling potatoes to the ever popular Yukon Gold. We also raise onions, squash, broccoli, scallions and early sweet corn. Because we live in a valley, we pasture sheep on the hillsides and we sell lamb. Otter Creek Organic Farm Otter Creek Organic Farm, owned and operated by the 2008 Organic Farmer of the Year, Gary and Nicholas Zimmer, pastures beef, pork and poultry along with their dairy herd. Otter Creek’s meat is available through Black Earth Meats in retail cuts, wholesale or quarters/halves/wholes. Sassy Cow Creamery Sassy Cow Creamery is a new farmstead dairy built in 2007 by third generation dairy farmers James and Robert Baerwolf and their families. Our love of dairying has led us in establishing two distinct herds: a 400 cow traditional dairy and a 100 cow organic dairy. We bottle the milk from these individual herds separately at our farmstead dairy. Products include whole, 2%, 1%, skim, chocolate and strawberry milk along with ice cream in a variety of flavors. Shady Blue Acres Shady Blue Acres is a certified organic farm producing an array of seasonal vegetables, fruits, canned goods and eggs, and raising heritage breeds of chickens, hogs and sheep. West Star Farm, LLC West Star Farm certified organic flowers, vegetables and bedding plants are grown on 40 acres of gently sloping farmland just 7 miles east of Madison. In spring we offer a diverse selection of bedding plants. Buy direct from our farm or find us at the market on the Capitol Square (Madison). Starting mid-June, buy fresh produce at our on-farm market on Thursdays, 2-7pm, or join our CSA to enjoy a weekly box of produce for 20 weeks. The Yesteryear Farm The Yesteryear Farm features certified organic vegetables and eggs, natural beef and poultry, and education about life on the farm in the early 1900s.
