Pumpkins A-Z Farm We grow pasture-raised lamb and poultry without hormones, growth stimulants or antibiotics. Freezer lambs (whole, half, individual cuts), sheep pelts and eggs from pastured hens are available. We also sell wool for spinning, weaving, crafts and blankets. Farm tours are offered by reservation for groups of all ages from March 4-August 1. Sheep Shearing for Spectators 2009 will be held February 21. Open Lambing Barn 2009 will be March 15, 22 & 29. All events are inside the 11,000-square-foot barn. Bures Berry Patch Bures Berry Patch is committed to providing area consumers with the highest quality produce in addition to a pleasurable farm experience. We cultivate: asparagus, rhubarb, pre-picked or U-PICK STRAWBERRIES, sweet corn, raspberries and fall ornamentals. Please call (608) 924-1404 for hours and availability. Directions from Madison: travel Hwy 18/151 west for approximately 30 miles. Go 2.5 miles past Barneveld. Turn left on W. Brigham Rd. and go 1 mile. See you in the patch! Christensen’s Farm Christensen’s Farm is a family venture offering a variety of vegetables and berries grown without chemicals. Our U-pick season begins in June with currants and raspberries and continues throughout the summer with tomatoes, peppers and more. Farm fresh eggs and beautifully decorated gourds are also available. Please call to find out what is available, visit us at the Monroe Farmers’ Market or visit the farm. We are 8 miles west of Monroe on Cty M. Country Bumpkin Farm Market Come to “our farm” to enjoy fresh, pre-picked garden produce, walk our gardens, or browse our gift shop and greenhouses. U-pick also available for our homegrown berries, fruits, vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, plus we plant and grow our own beautiful, jumbo flower baskets! Open daily, 10am-6pm, April 20-October 31. Take exit 89 to Hwy 23. Travel south 1/2 mile to Hwy P on right. (Super Wal-Mart and Home Depot are on left.) Turn right onto Hwy P for 1 mile. We are on the left. Door Creek Orchard U-pick and pre-picked apples (70 bearing varieties) are offered as well as U-pick table and wine grapes, fall raspberries and pumpkins. Fresh, unpasteurized apple cider is pressed weekly. Naturally colored yarn from our black Welsh mountain sheep and Lincolns is now available. Season: mid-August to late November. Directions: From Madison take Hwy 12/18 east 3 miles past I-90, turn right on Vilas Rd. and go 1/2 mile. Eplegaarden, LLC An old-fashioned farm where families, kids of all ages and adults have fun while selv plukking their own apples, raspberries and pumpkins, enjoying hayrides, and seeing animals up close. Wisconsin Sesquicentennial Barn, tours, Billy Goat Gruff family, picnics, 100 varieties of apples and 15 acres of pumpkins—plukked or selv-plukked. Four miles south of Madison’s Beltline (Hwy 12/18) on Seminole Hwy in the city of Fitchburg. Foster’s Fall Harvest Foster’s Fall Harvest has all of your fall decorator needs in one spot. We specialize in a large variety of pumpkins. Select from the lawn or take a free hayride to our pumpkin patch and pick from the field. Hayrides offered Sundays in October, 1-4pm. Also have squash, gourds (including dried birdhouses), ornamental corn, corn shocks, straw bales and mums. Apples, Amish jams and candy, along with crafts are sold in the shed, Monday-Friday, 5-7pm, and Saturday-Sunday, 9am-7pm. Open September through October. Come enjoy the farm animals and take pictures. Look for our Big Turkey. Located 4 miles north of Marshall on Hwy 73. Gooch Farms We are a small family farm. We raise European red deer for meat, breeding stock, antlers and hides, without the use of antibiotics, growth hormones, or animal byproducts in our feed. Our animals are born and raised on our farm. We sell our venison at the Dane County Farmers’ Market and other venues. We also offer both U-pick and pre-picked pumpkins. Come to our annual Pumpkin Fest (hayrides, corn maze and feed the deer). Open every weekend in October. Green’s Pleasant Springs Orchard We grow 65 varieties of apples, tomatoes, specialty lettuces, sweet corn and pumpkins. We offer U-pick and pre-picked apples. We do not pre-bag apples. The customers pick out each apple they want. Fresh, unpasteurized cider is pressed each week in season. For 30 years, we have grown quality fruit and produce with food safety and the environment in mind. We offer our products at the orchard, the Dane County Farmers’ Market and the Westside Community Market in Madison. Directions: 1.5 miles from the I-90 and Hwy N interchange. From I-90, south on Hwy N, right turn on Koshkonong Rd., right turn on Williams Dr. Hermanson Pumpkin Patch Hermanson Pumpkin Patch is no ordinary pumpkin patch. We have 32 varieties of pumpkins of all colors and sizes. We also have squash, Indian corn, gourds and dried birdhouse gourds. Take beautiful fall pictures with the kids and farm animals. Pull a wagon into the field to pick or choose a pumpkin in the yard. Located 8 miles southeast of Stoughton or 4 miles from Edgerton on Cty N. Open the fourth week of September and all of October, 9am-6pm. Homestead Animal Farm Homestead Animal Farm is a unique farm that has been in our family for over 130 years. We are located minutes from Holy Hill. Visit the farm’s friendly animals. Watch the goats play on the grass-roofed barns. Take an “I spy” hayride around our beautiful country farm. Challenge yourself in our corn maze. We offer homegrown pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks, straw bales and more. We are open Saturdays and Sundays, 10am-6pm, from September 27-October 31. Educational field trips are available during the week by appointment. Kojis Produce We are a self-serve with two stands in Waterford. We have raised sweet corn since 1972 and moved into a very wide range of vegetables in the year 2002. We raise everything we sell. Many items are picked the same day they are sold for the freshest possible product. We are third generation farmers. The present owner and operator is in a wheelchair. Lapacek’s Orchard We are a small family-owned and -operated business conveniently located just 1/2 mile east of Poynette on Hwy CS and Q. Throughout the apple season, we offer over 30 varieties of apples, delicious caramel apples and unpasteurized apple cider. Our farm offers many family activities including: feeding our cows apples, visiting our emus, playing in the sunflowers, finding a pumpkin or gourd, and searching for kittens. See you in the fall! Pleasant Hill Market Garden We’re a certified organic farm growing over 200 varieties of vegetables and herbs. Produce is available through our CSA. We also sell to fine restaurants through the Home Grown Wisconsin cooperative. Our specialty potatoes, garlic and onions are available late summer/fall at the Dane County Farmers’ Market. 2008 is our 18th year farming and 16th year offering CSA shares. River Valley Ranch Seasonal fresh produce, 5 varieties of fresh mushrooms, wild mushrooms in season, all pesticide- and chemical-free. River Valley Ranch is the oldest commercial mushroom farm in the Midwest. Handcrafted sauces and salsas from our on-farm kitchen, using our farm-grown produce, as well as locally produced foods are available in our year-round market. Located at Hwy 50 and Cty P, 8 miles east of Lake Geneva, open 7 days per week, 9am-6pm. Schuster’s Playtime Farm, Inc. From adorable animals to zooming corncobs, Schuster’s Playtime Farm offers farm produce and excitement for everyone! Farm features include: centennial round barn, hayrides, corn maze (day and night), Haunted Forest, pumpkins, squash, fall decorations, animal menagerie, barnyard play area and bonfires. Ten Eyck Orchard Ten Eyck Orchard consists of 40 acres of fruit trees. The farm—in our family since 1839—has evolved into a high-density dwarf orchard with 50 varieties of apples. All apples are tree-ripened, picked and sorted with great care and sold at their flavor peak. Our home market is located on Hwy 11/81, 3 miles west of Brodhead, and is open daily from late August into November. We also offer Asian pears and plums. The Tree Farm Offering U-pick vegetables since 1973. Diversity is our specialty. Choose from about 190 different varieties of 40 kinds of vegetables—including ethnic and specialty vegetables—flowers, herbs, pumpkins, gourds, ornamental corn and popcorn. Pick quantities for canning or for supper. Enjoy our scenic ridgetop in northwestern Dane County overlooking Indian Lake County Park. Wholesome Harvest Wholesome Harvest is a produce farm located near Lake Mills. Our farm will be certified organic in the spring of 2008. We run a very nice CSA. We also sell at a variety of farmers’ markets in southern Wisconsin. We have CSA drop points in Jefferson, Waukesha, Watertown, Fort Atkinson and Lake Mills. We are also using the Westside Community Market (Madison) as a drop point. We enjoy growing a wide variety of produce in the healthiest way possible. The Yesteryear Farm The Yesteryear Farm features certified organic vegetables and eggs, natural beef and poultry, and education about life on the farm in the early 1900s.
