RetailThe following farms sell products through on-farm stores or retail outlets. Retail businesses can be found in the Businesses and Organizations section. Appleberry Farm Conveniently located near the west Beltline of Madison, 4 miles west on Mineral Point Rd., left on Timber Lane, right on Maurer Rd. The scenic farm provides a wholesome family experience and famously fresh food. U-pick strawberries, raspberries and sweet corn. Heirloom apples, pumpkins, caramel apples, fresh cider, donuts, brats, hayrides and school tours. Carandale Farm Visit our farm for U-pick or pre-picked strawberries, Concord grapes and fall raspberries. We also vend our fruits at the Dane County Farmers’ Market including uncommon fruit from our test plot (aronia, sea berries, currants, gooseberries, blackberries, cherries and more!). We’re at the end of S. Fish Hatchery Rd., 8.5 miles from the Madison Beltline. Kickapoo Gold, LLC Our certified organic Kickapoo Gold maple syrup is made with quality processing and family tradition. Our syrup is sold in many stores, farmers’ markets and on the web. Pancake breakfasts and tours are offered during the sugaring season, March to early April. We also sell Leader Evaporator equipment for all your sugar making needs. Morningwood Farm Nursery We are a full-service nursery located west of Madison, specializing in distinctive and Wisconsin-hardy ornamental plants, vegetable plants, fruit trees and other woody plants. Our staff of horticulturists will assist in selecting plants and designing your garden. We also provide landscape design and installation using native plants and earth-sustaining techniques. Rainbow Fleece Farm & Carding Co. A domestic fair trade farm with sustainable practices: access to fresh air, sunshine; grass-based, free-range; no antibiotics or hormones for our lamb, chickens, turkeys…who live the ‘dolce vita’! Whole/halves/various cuts inspected, licensed lamb. Farm events: educational programs, fiber/felting workshops. Local Markets: Fitchburg, Eastside Madison. River Valley Ranch Since 1976, our family farm has been producing chemical- /pesticide-free mushrooms and vegetables for sale to consumers in our year-round farm market open 7 days/week. We feature our value added farm products as well as locally produced foods and artisan cheeses. Sassy Cow Creamery Sassy Cow Creamery is a new farmstead dairy built in 2007 by third generation dairy farmers James and Robert Baerwolf and their families. Our love of dairying has led us in establishing two distinct herds: a 400 cow traditional dairy and a 100 cow organic dairy. We bottle the milk from these individual herds separately at our farmstead dairy. Products include whole, 2%, 1%, skim, chocolate and strawberry milk along with ice cream in a variety of flavors. Schönheit Gardens Nursery Schönheit Gardens Nursery is a family-owned perennial nursery and garden center, specializing in shade and rock gardening. The 7-acre country setting south of Sun Prairie offers unique display gardens to stroll through, a wonderful selection of perennials, trees, shrubs and annuals, and a friendly, knowledgeable staff to help with plant selections. Sunrise Orchards, Inc. Farm fresh apples, bakery, caramel apples, cider, potatoes, onions and antique apple varieties. Specializing in Wisconsin-grown and -made food products. Open late August to mid-December. Outdoor play area for children. Samples of our products available every day. Located on Hwy 171 east of Gays Mills. |
